Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is nearing the end of his contract with the Blues, as his contract will run out at the end of next season.
Courtois made his intentions known last summer about his desire for a new deal but has been unable to agree terms with the club.
The Belgium number one has now put talks on hold as he heads into his final year, and with Real Madrid lurking around, Antonio Conte wants this resolved.
Conte said: “He is a player very important for Chelsea but the renewal of contract is a task for the club.
“Thibaut knows very well my thoughts about him. I consider him one of the best. For sure he will be the best in the world.
“I like to give my opinion about technical decisions. But it is also important for the club to face this issue, this contract with Courtois.”
