Chelsea defender David Luiz was left out of the matchday squad for Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Reports before the game claimed the relationship between Antonio Conte and David Luiz had grown tense and some reports correctly predicted David Luiz won’t play the game against Manchester United.
Speaking before Chelsea’s win at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte claimed the decision to drop Luiz was tactical but Conte admitted after the victory over United that he doesn’t know if Luiz still have a future at Chelsea.
Asked whether Luiz has a future at Chelsea, Conte told Sky Sports: “I don’t know.
“He has to work really hard otherwise he is on the bench or in the stand.”
