Chelsea’s season hasn’t started out as planned, and the Blues’ 3-0 defeat to Roma on Tuesday night only adds more pressure to the Chelsea team.

With Chelsea second in the Champions League group and nine points behind Manchester City in the title race, former Chelsea striker Eidur Gudjohnsen believes Chelsea just have to spend in January to avoid another injury crisis.

Gudjohnsen told Starsport: “Maybe just look at the squad and look at the situation when the time comes.

“Injuries are always part of football and you might have to anticipate the amount of games that will come up after the New Year so I’m sure they’re well equipped to handle that situation.

“I don’t think there is any particular area that I would say we need players but we just have to look at that situation when it comes to January.”
