Chelsea star Eden Hazard, missed Belgium’s 1-0 victory over Japan on Wednesday evening and wasn’t even named as a substitute, after suffering a knock against Mexico where he scored in their 3-3 draw.

Hazard was rested against Japan as a precaution, and according to a report by HLN, the 26-year-old was able take part in training on Monday.

Hazard missed over three months of football after suffering an ankle injury while on international duty with Belgium at the end of last season.

He only recovered fully back in September following a successful surgery and is being protected by club and country to avoid another disastrous injury.
