Eden Hazard has been a Chelsea player since 2012, having made the move from Lille. The 26-year-old is one of those the younger members of the squad will look up to for inspiration and education.
The Chelsea remembered how he was in a similar position when he was a youngster at Lille and how he learnt from Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert.
“In my first month I trained with Patrick Kluivert and he had a good mentality,” Hazard told Chelsea magazine.
“I remember one day we were in the gym together and he was doing some work, and I was doing… nothing! So he started to show me, saying: ‘Come on, Eden! You need to do this!’
“I remember thinking, ‘If Patrick Kluivert’s told me this, I need to do something!’ He was a top guy, a top player. That’s when I started to understand that football is not easy and you need to work if you want to arrive.”
