N’Golo Kante is definitely Chelsea’s Mr Reliable. His workrate in the middle of the park cannot be overemphasized, and his performance upon his return from injury in the 1-0 win against Manchester United only buttresses the Frenchman’s importance to the club.

Speaking about his training methods with the official Chelsea website, Kante reveals what he usually does before training. He said: “On a normal day I come maybe around 9.30, take my breakfast. After I stay a little bit in the dressing room. Some days I go to the treatment room for recovery. I go to the gym to do some exercises and some stretching to make sure I am ready for training.”

He also revealed his best weather for training, as he said: “What I like is when it’s not too hot, a little bit cool. Not too cold, not raining, and not windy.”

Kante then admitted that he loves to have a banter with the players after training if he isn’t tired or have a massage if he’s tired. He said: “Usually I have a massage after training and also do some exercises and stretching in the gym again. Sometimes I just spend time in the changing room to laugh with players.

“It depends how I feel in my body. If I feel tired I go straight to a massage, and if I feel okay I stay in the changing rooms.

“If I am not stretching in the gym, I like to work on my abs by doing press-ups. Sometimes I do yoga, maybe once a month. It’s something different.”
