Chelsea legend Frank Lampard is reportedly being considered for the role of technical director at Chelsea according to a report on Daily Express.

Michael Emenalo quit his role as Chelsea’s technical director on Monday after over ten years at Chelsea which saw him sign players like Eden Hazard, Oscar, Juan Mata, Andreas Christensen, Kevin De Bruyne and lots more.

The Nigerian had been made a scapegoat for Chelsea’s poor summer transfer activities this season with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte reportedly unhappy with Chelsea’s summer transfer activities.

Emenalo claims the decision to quit the role was his and various reports claim Roman Abramovich tried to make him stay.

In the short-term, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia will take over Emenalo’s duties while Chelsea search for a new technical director.

Lampard is reportedly being considered for the role because it is believed he would help ease relations between Conte and the board.
