Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been impressive for his loan club Crystal Palace this season with the 21-year-old midfielder scoring in Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson was impressed with Loftus-Cheek’s all-round performance against Stoke City on Saturday.
“It wasn’t just his goal today,” said Hodgson.
“It was his all-round performance. All he needs is games, experience and the knowledge that he can do it week after week.”
Hodgson also revealed Chelsea can recall Loftus-Cheek early if the 21-year-old fails to get enough game time during his loan spell at Crystal Palace.
“I have a feeling that they have the right to call him back if he is not playing enough games or featuring in enough games, which is a good clause,” Hodgson said ahead of Crystal Palace’s game with Stoke City.
“If you are loaning out players who you believe in to get playing time, and the clubs aren’t using the player, then I think you are entitled to bring them back.
“I think that clause exists. That is, I suppose, a risk for us. If we suddenly decide we don’t want to use him then he could go back.”
