Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek left Chelsea for his first ever loan spell during the summer, as he joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old has been one of Palace’s brightest players despite their poor start to the season, and Loftus-Cheek’s performance has earned him a call-up to the England national team.

The Chelsea loanee is happy with the playing opportunities he’s getting at Crystal Palace.

He said: “It’s been a difficult start for me. I’ve had two games then an injury then another two games. I guess it’s a result of not playing for so long in the first place so this period is a transformation period for me. I’m just trying to get my body used to it and kick on.

“I came away from Chelsea to get game time, that’s the most important thing for me at the moment – gaining experience, fitness and getting used to playing in the Premier League week in week out and that’s what I’m getting.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
