Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek put in a man of the match performance on his Three Lions debut against Germany at Wembley last Friday.

The Chelsea youngster who’s on loan to Crystal Palace was forced off in the 35th minute of England’s friendly against Brazil on Tuesday with a back injury, and couldn’t complete the match.

The 21-year-old midfielder subsequently missed training on Thursday as he recovered from his back injury by exercising in the pool, and it appears that his injury isn’t serious as first feared and he can play a part in Palace’s home clash with Everton on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson said: “We’re assessing Ruben, that’s the main thing. He didn’t train today. But it’s a back spasm – so there’s a hope that will get better.”
