Chelsea are 11 points behind Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title, and the deficit could have been cut down to 9 last night.
Manchester City were heading for a 1-1 draw with Southampton, before Raheem Sterling scored a 96th minute goal, in what was the last kick of the game to give City the three points at the Etihad Stadium.
Conte couldn’t help but laugh off the situation as he said after the game: “They won again at the end, 96. I remember another game against Bournemouth and Huddersfield. Sterling is very dangerous.
“I have a great respect for a team that doesn’t give up until the end. If they win these games it means they trust until the end. They are doing something incredible, sometimes you can be lucky but it is normal.
“We have to go game by game and we are improving from the season. We have a good balance and we had a lot of good chances.”
He then admitted that all Chelsea have to do is focus on themselves.
He added: “For us it’s important to look at ourselves, to go game by game. I think we’re improving from the start of the season. We have good balance. We created many chances, but we didn’t take them. But we kept another clean sheet.”
