Chelsea’s record signing Alvaro Morata scored the winning goal for the Blues in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Morata came face-to-face with his former manager Jose Mourinho last Sunday having rejected the chance to sign for Manchester United in the summer, as he joined Chelsea instead.

Morata said he gave Mourinho a hug after the game, but implied that it didn’t mean anything.

“I saw him before the game and we gave each other a hug,” said the Chelsea striker.

“It’s football. Nothing else. I will always be grateful to him because he is the coach who gave me my debut in the Primera.”
