Chelsea have a legend in the making in the young Andreas Christensen. However, the Chelsea defender who’s impressing everyone with his performances could easily have been signed up by Aston Villa, who missed the chance to sign him due to a petty wage demand of £600-per-week.
According to The Sun, the highly rated centre-back was initially uncovered by Villa scout Alfie Apps and he could have been snapped up from Brondby’s youth team after being recommended.
However, The Sun report that Christensen only wanted £600-per-week to move to Villa Park.
But Villa weren’t ready to give him that sum, prompting Chelsea to swoop in and secure a deal.
Indeed, this could go down as the steal of the decade as the young Christensen has a bright future ahead of him.
