According to a report on Daily Mail, Spanish club Real Madrid are preparing a January move for Chelsea’s Brazilian defender David Luiz.
The 30-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at Chelsea since Chelsea’s 3-0 loss at Roma in October with some reports claiming he fell out with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte after the loss to Roma.
Luiz has missed three consecutive Premier League games with Conte preferring 21-year-old Andreas Christensen.
Luiz has been ruled out of Chelsea’s game with Swansea City on Wednesday as Conte says he requires further treatment to an ongoing knee problem.
“I must be honest at the moment it is difficult for me to answer [how long he will be sidelined],” Conte said.
“It will be up to the doctor to assess it and take the best decision.”
Luiz, who was named in the PFA Team of the Year last season, might be tempted to join Real Madrid if the Spanish club make an offer in January as he needs to play regularly to retain his place in Brazil’s World Cup squad for the summer.
