Chelsea legend John Terry’s career at Aston Villa seems to have taken a hit as he is set for a long spell on the sidelines after suffering suspected broken metatarsal.

The former Chelsea captain was forced off after just 20 minutes of Aston Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Terry was helped off the pitch by a physio and was then taken to hospital for scans to determine the damage.

Speaking after the game, Villa manager Steve Bruce said: “It looks like it’s going to be a while.

“We think he’s broken a metatarsal in his foot. We’ll know just how bad it is in the next few hours.”
