Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, currently on loan at Crystal Palace, won the man of the match award on his England debut as England drew 0-0 against Germany on Friday night.
Loftus-Cheek revealed after the game that he learnt a lot playing 90 minutes against Germany. He also revealed he could make England’s World Cup team if he continues to learn and get better.
“If we won it would have been better but I’m really happy. It was a really tactical game. It was good for us young players and I certainly learned a lot,” Loftus-Cheek said.
“The manager has said do your best. I had Gareth in charge for nearly three years at the Under-21s and the boys have been great. I’ve settled in really well and they gave me a platform to go out and play.
“To go to the world cup it’s a long season and I still have to improve. I have to keep learning and getting better and hopefully there’s a chance to get on the plane.”
