Andreas Christensen was one of the best players on the pitch in Chelsea’s victory over Manchester United. The Blues won the game 1-0 and Christensen was spectacular in defence.
The 21-year-old will now be the first player since John Terry to break through from the Chelsea academy, but it is something Terry has predicted three years ago.
Back in 2014, Chelsea legend John Terry backed the Danish youngster to establish himself as a regular for the Blues and even take the former club captain’s place in the starting XI.
“Believe me, I am sure that he will be a top footballer and one of the future men for Chelsea.” Terry told TV2 Sporten, via Sky Sports.
“I talk to him daily, train with him and try to give him as much advice as I can.
“I have always told him that he should chase me and knock me off the team. He should be hungry to take my place in the team.
“For me, Andreas is a brilliant footballer and he will certainly get his chance at Chelsea.”
