Chelsea left wing-back Marcos Alonso tends to pop up with some important goals for the Blues and he was at hand to score the second goal that settled the victory for Chelsea against Brighton on Boxing Day.

It was his fifth goal of the season, and the Spaniard was delighted to be on the scoresheet.

“There was the free-kick and then two headers from the corners, and I am happy for another goal and I am happy for the three points,” said the 26-year-old.

“I think we started a bit shaky but as soon as we got into the second half we played a good 45 minutes. I am very happy to help the team and be scoring goals as well, but now we have another game against Stoke in a couple of days and hopefully another three points. There is not much time to rest and be ready again so we are very focused on that.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
