Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu might feature in tonight’s Carabao Cup quarterfinal clash against Bournemouth.
The youngster who turned 17 in September played the entire 90 minutes in the 2-1 victory over Everton in the previous round, and the summer signing can’t believe he started against the Toffees not to mention playing the entire game.
He said in an interview with the official Chelsea website: “I was not expecting to start but it is what you aim for, and you have to try to do your job. Getting through to the next round was another bonus.
“The games I have played for Exeter in front of crowds, must-win games, it helps. I am not totally used to it because I did not play loads of games for Exeter, but it makes you more aware of the situation and what to do.
“Against Everton it was a good result and now we are into the next round against Bournemouth which is going to be another good game. We would like to win this cup and the main thing is to get through and put ourselves in the semi-final.”
