Chelsea have been drawn against Barcelona in the second round of the Champions League after qualifying as second from Group C.
While it’s expected that Barcelona are the favourites to reach the quarterfinals, Arsenal legend Robert Pires thinks Chelsea can shock Barca who seem powerless without Neymar.
“I think for Chelsea, it’s maybe not the same as they are used to, they won the Premier League but in the Champions League they haven’t been so good,” Pires explained to Marca.
“For Barcelona it will be the same as always, in this competition they have a lot of experience and maybe they have the advantage.
“But, we are in December and the game isn’t for two months so a lot can happen.
“Unfortunately for them they lost Neymar and he scored a lot of goals, so now it’s a bit different.
“But Barcelona are still a big team, a great team, and with a player like Lionel Messi it’s very difficult to beat them.”
