Eden Hazard has been in good form since his return from injury and Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has admitted that the Belgian was too good against his side as Chelsea came from behind to beat Newcastle 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.

Benitez led Chelsea to the Europa League trophy in 2013 as the club’s interim manager, and having seen Hazard’s performance firsthand for the first time since he left the club, the Spaniard admitted Hazard is now a better player than when he was in charge of the club.

“He was already very good but he’s more mature and better with his decision-making,” said Benitez.

“When you play a lot of games you learn and you know when you can make the difference and you are aware that you can make a difference.”
