Chelsea and Newcastle will be up against each other at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, and it won’t be the first the managers of the two clubs will be meeting.

Antonio Conte and Rafa Benitez were rivals during their time in the Italian Serie A, with Conte in charge of Juve and Benitez was in charge of Napoli.

Ahead of today’s game, Benitez chose to hail Conte for the work he did last season.

He said: “He is a very competitive manager who has done a great job,” said the Toon boss. “To come to another country and win the league at a massive club is impressive.

“Conte is a winner, who is always pushing his team in the direction to win trophies.

“Can Chelsea retain the title? I do not know but they can win a lot of games and be close to the top of the table.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
