Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has defended his decision not to start Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi after Chelsea’s goalless draw with Everton.
Conte played with three No 10s and only brought on Michy Batshuayi 20 minutes from time.
“I think there is nothing to explain,” Conte said of his decision to bench Batshuayi.
“Morata was out and I think this player is very important for us so we played with three No. 10s, Willian, Pedro, Hazard, and we created many chances.
“I have to make the best decision for my team. This is not the first time and I think also today I took the best decision for my team.
“Don’t forget Michy is coming back from an injury (foot). He played against Bournemouth for 75 minutes. We tried to do our best. It is a pity to drop two points against Everton.”
