Former Blue Diego Costa could see his side play Europa League football this season as their chances of making it to the second round of the UEFA Champions League are very slim.

Atletico Madrid will need to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night and hope for Qarabag to do the same against Roma. Anything other than that, Diego Someone’s men will be relegated to the Europa League this season.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was asked in his press conference about seeing Costa playing in the Europa League this season, but Conte chose to respect the Spanish side.

He said: “I think we must have great respect for AM and all the team not only for one, two or three players.

“If the whole team after tomorrow has to play Europa League it can happen and we must have great respect for the whole team and first of all for this coach.”
