In his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Southampton, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte talked about playing Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro in a front three.
The trio impressed while playing in a front three in the 3-1 win at Huddersfield on Tuesday.
“We played in this way last season and I think this could be a good option because I think you don’t give a point of reference to your opponent,” Conte said.
“You can play with three players who are good technically, very fast and good one against one, creative players.
“It’s important to have a good balance.
“If our three strikers want to sacrifice without the ball, it could be a good option for the present and the future.
“Otherwise you risk losing the game and being caught on the counter attack, I don’t want that.”
