After a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the final game of the Champions League, Chelsea could only qualify as runners up of Group C, following Roma’s 1-0 victory over Qarabag.
Chelsea could probably meet PSG or Barcelona in the second round of the tournament, and Conte was asked in his press conference today about the probability of meeting two of Europe’s heavyweight in the round of 16, and the Italian stressed that his team should be ready for anybody.
He said in his press conference: “I think when you reach this level it’s very difficult to tell this team is good or this team is no good. For sure on paper and also for experience, for the story of these two clubs, I think Barcelona, PSG are very good, very good.
“For sure these two clubs are favourites for the final victory in this competition. At the same time we must be ready to face Barcelona, PSG or Besiktas. Now it’s not the right moment to think of this.”
