N’Golo Kante was key to Chelsea’s title triumph last season, and the Chelsea midfielder went on to win the PFA Player of the Year award, after standing out from the rest of the players.
The France international has been named as the 8th best player in the world in the Ballon d’Or, and Conte was surprised that Kante went that high because of his style of football.
Speaking about Kante’s Ballon d’Or position, the Chelsea manager said: “To finish eighth in the Ballon d’Or table for a player like Kante, with his type of characteristics, it’s not simple, it’s not easy. To finish eighth for N’GOlo is a great result.
“I’m proud for him with this great result. All the people understood the capacity of this player. He’s a fantastic player. For me in his role he’s one of the best in the world.”
