The 2017 calendar year is about winding out, and there have been some sizzling football on display this year, with a lot of players making their mark in the Premier League.

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has revealed his team of the year based on players’ performances for this calendar year, and with Chelsea enjoying title success this year, four Chelsea players made the squad.

He selected four players from reigning champions Chelsea, four from last season’s runners-up Tottenham, two from current league leaders Manchester City and one from Europa League and League Cup holders Manchester United.

Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta, N’Golo Kante, Marcos Alonso, and Eden Hazard made the team. Other players that made the team are Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Kieran Trippier and Harry Kane and Manchester City’s David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
