Eden Hazard was the man of the match in Chelsea’s 3-1 win against Newcastle.
The 26-year-old scored a brace and could easily have gotten a hatrick but was subbed off by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte.
Asked by Sky Sports after the game if he was frustrated he didn’t complete his hat-trick, the winger joked that Cesc Fabregas was affected more.
“No it’s not a problem for me, it’s a problem for Cesc [Fabregas], because he could have make one assist. But at least we won the game, that’s the most important thing,” he said.
When pressed further on whether he was disappointed by Conte’s decision to take him off before he could claim his hatrick, Hazard responded: “No, all the players want to play. We play on Tuesday I think, so rest is sometimes good.
“But of course when you score two, you want to score a hat trick but the other boys score, no problem.”
Up next for Chelsea is a Champions League home game against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night before a trip to West Ham at the London Stadium next Saturday.
