Venue: Stamford Bridge

It’s the Carabao Cup quarterfinal, and Chelsea will be hoping to defeat Bournemouth tonight to reach the semifinal of the Carabao Cup.

To get to this stage, Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest 5-1 in the third round and a 2-1 victory over Everton in the fourth round.

To get to this stage, Bournemouth overcame Birmingham 2-1 away from home in the second round, won Brighton 1-0 at home in the third round and a 3-1 win over Middlesbrough followed in the fourth round.

Bournemouth head into the game in terrible form having suffered a 4-0 loss to Liverpool at the weekend and haven’t won a game in their last six games.

This will be only the second meeting between these sides in the League Cup, with Chelsea winning both legs 1-0 in their previous encounter, the second round in 1994-95.

Bournemouth have only won one of their last nine meetings with Chelsea in all competitions (L8), though that win did come at Stamford Bridge back in December 2015.

The Blues have won seven of their last eight home League Cup games (L1), netting 24 goals in the process.

Chelsea have been eliminated from three of their previous five League Cup quarter-final ties, while this will be the second League Cup quarterfinal appearance for Bournemouth.
