Kick-off: Tuesday, December 26, 2017. 15:00 GMT

Venue: Stamford Bridge

The season has gone halfway, and we are now entering the second phase of the Premier League campaign.

It’s Gameweek 20, and Chelsea will today host Brighton at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea who are third on the table will be against the Premier League newcomers who currently occupy 12th position, and 18 points separate the two teams.

Chelsea have won four of their last six league games and drawn one and lost one, while Brighton have won just one of their last six games, with three losses and two draws.

Chelsea have won their last five games at Stamford Bridge since losing to Manchester City on September 30. On the other hand, the Seagulls have lost their last three away league games without scoring.

Brighton are in a bit of bad form and have won just one of their last eight (D3, L4) and have only scored twice in their last six league matches.

Brighton won the first meeting between the sides in January 1933 but have lost six and drawn one of the subsequent seven.

Their most recent clash was in March 1989, a 1-0 away win for Chelsea in Division Two thanks to Kevin Wilson’s goal.

Brighton have only scored once in the last six meetings.

My prediction: Chelsea 2 vs 0 Brighton
