It’s Gameweek 18, and Chelsea will play host to Southampton as the Premier League reaches its midpoint of the season.
Chelsea are third on the table, with 35 points from 17 games, while the Saints are 11th with 18 points so far.
Out of the last six league games, Chelsea have won four, drawn one and recently lost 1-0 to West Ham at the London Stadium last weekend.
Southampton lost their last league match 4-1 against Leicester City and have only won one out of their last six, losing three and drawing two of those games.
Chelsea have won their last three games against Southampton, though the previous three were difficult for the Blues, with Chelsea losing one in the process.
Southampton have kept one clean sheet in their last 24 league games against the Blues – a goalless draw in west London on Boxing Day 2002.
Eden Hazard is the man for Southampton and has had a hand in five goals in his last seven games against Southampton, scoring three and providing two assists.
My prediction: Southampton could prove to be difficult opponents like against Arsenal and Manchester City, and they could also be very weak like against Leicester City and Liverpool.
Chelsea will win the game but it’ll be a tough one. I predict a two-goal margin.
