Monaco has insisted that they will not sell Thomas Lemar during the January transfer window despite ongoing interest in the 22-year-old winger.
Lemar has attracted interest from Chelsea and a host of other top clubs in Europe.
However, Monaco are reluctant to let another of their star players go after allowing Kylian Mbappe, Benjamin Mendy and Tiemoue Bakayoko depart in the summer – key players who helped them win the French League last season and reach the semifinal of the Champions League.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev admitted that Lemar won’t be sold next month.
“The sales of important players is not on the agenda,” he said.
“We have never spoken [to Lemar or his agent] about the possibility of a January departure.
“The team needs stability. We have re-found a positive dynamic. Now is not the time to break it.”
