Chelsea’s 5-0 home win against Stoke City was a perfect way to end was has been a pretty good year for the club. Let’s flashback to some memorable moments for the club.

Here are my top 5:

1. CHELSEA DO A DOUBLE OVER SPURS:

There’s nothing so sweet than throwing a sicker punch at the face of a rival. For Chelsea, our most hated club is Spurs. Beating them to the title was joyous but slaying them 4-2 last season at Wembley to book our place in the FA Cup finals was sauce and juice for us. More satisfying was beating again in the league 2-1 courtesy of Alonso’s brace stamped our superiority over them.

2. BRIDGE TOO FAR FOR ‘JUDAS’ JOSE MOURINHO AND MANCHESTER UNITED:

Another memorable moment of 2017 was beating Jose Mourinho and Manchester United for the third time in a row at Stamford Bridge. For all of Jose’s specialness, his failure to win at his old stomping ground will surely be disheartening to him. For Chelsea fans getting one over him was special in a special way to let the Special One know that he’s no longer special to them.

3. RETURN AND PROGRESS IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE:

Nothing beats competing among the best clubs in the world. Chelsea’s year long absence from Champions league football after the ruins of a ‘Mourinho season’ was hell. Winning the league and returning to the grand tournament and even making it to the knockout stage is delightful for all Chelsea fans.

4. JOHN TERRY’S GRAND FAREWELL:

John Terry’s fairy tale love affair was brought to an end in a grand farewell that pleased both parties. Chelsea Captain, Legend and Leader was given the kind of reception befitting of a player with status at Chelsea. The iconic defender was well celebrated and honoured, and will surely live in our hearts. He finishes off as Chelsea’s most decorated player.

5. TITLE CELEBRATIONS:

After early predictions dismissed our chances of winning the league, Antonio Conte inspired Chelsea to a fifth league title and our second in three years. A drastic improvement from finishing 10th the previous season to becoming league winners was top of the world.
