The transfer market is already heating up with juicy businesses being sealed. This is the time of the season when only very few clubs are willing sellers and the buying clubs don’t want to spend silly money.

For Chelsea, our transfer business has started nicely with the shrewd £15.3m signing of Ross Barkley from Everton thanks to his running down contract. With the left-back position almost certainly to be filled by either the signing of Alex Sandro from Juventus or Alex Telles from FC Porto, the only position with a big question as to who the club should sign is in the striking role. With the possible sale or loan move for floundering backup striker, Michy Batshuayi on the horizon, the club obviously needs to sign another lethal attacker to provide competition for Alvaro Morata.

Here are three names on my list that will represent shrewd business:

PIERRE GIGNAC

The veteran French striker is a perfect Antonio Conte type of player. He’s versatile, strong, quick, aggressive, industrious and a fine finisher. He fits the profile of Chelsea’s kind of player to lead the line and provide support and competition for the sudden goal-shy Alvaro Morata. A potential offer to play in the Champions League and the Premier League could be tempting enough to persuade him to make the move on a short term deal. He’s a proven goal scorer and would be a valuable quick fix signing for Chelsea.

Possible transfer fee: £10 – £25m/ loan deal from the Mexican league.

MOUSSA DEMBELE

The Celtic striker has been a reported Chelsea target in recent seasons. Being cup tied due his involvement in Celtic’s Champions League campaign, he is ineligible to play for us. So, Conte can give him cup and league duties, while Morata can be used more in the Champions League. In Dembele, Chelsea will be getting a proven settled goalscorer hungry for success. Still at a very young age and with a reported salary offered by interested club Brighton in the region of £45,000 per week, this will be another shrewd deal for Chelsea if we can steal the march over the Premier league newboys. Better still, a potential swap deal with Dembele coming to Chelsea, and Batshuayi to Celtic could be ideal for all parties.

Possible transfer fee: £25 – £35m

The Leicester frontman is a proven goalscorer with quick feet, deadly finishing and pace. His star quality of notching against big clubs is an added advantage and plus the fact he won’t be cup tied. Juicy deal if you ask me.

Possible transfer fee: £30m – £50m

All these have proved their worth to an extent for their clubs. There will be no fear of settling in a new league and country, they’re all home grown and also transferable if the right offer is tabled for them.

You can propose strikers you feel Chelsea can buy that would be ideal for the team in the comment zone.

Let’s hope for the best. Cheers!
