Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the club-record signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund, as Olivier Giroud is said to be heading to Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has revealed his anger at the club for trying to sell Giroud.

“Why would they sell him? It doesn’t make sense,” Arsenal legend Wright said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“It really would be like losing a tenner and finding a fiver.

“So we’ve got Lacazette and fingers crossed Aubameyang and no big guy on the bench.

“You are talking about bringing on Danny Welbeck, or if Lacazette’s not playing then him.

“We haven’t got that guy that’s proven off the bench to come on and score goals.”
