Chelsea played out a goalless draw against Norwich in the FA Cup on Saturday, and the Blues will now have to play a replay at Stamford Bridge to go through to the fourth round of the competition.

Chelsea skipper Gary Cahill has revealed his disappointment with the way the game panned out and that the replay comes at a time when the team should be resting.

“It was a flat game,” he said. “In the first half we were not ourselves – I just felt the tempo was down, like it was a bit off. It never felt like we were in a huge amount of difficulty or trouble, but the game just seemed to go by and it was finished. I think if we’d have started the first half the way we did the second, we would probably have won the game.

“I thought the effort was there, especially in the second half when we tried and tried, but the first half was flat. Now we have a replay which we didn’t want – another game in what would have been our only half-break without a midweek match.”
