Chelsea’s bid for Arsenal striker Oliver Giroud has been reportedly withdrawn according to a report on French media publication L’Equipe.
The report claims Giroud agreed a contract with Chelsea on Monday but Chelsea pulled out of the transfer after Arsenal failed to meet a deadline set by the Blues.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea offered £15million plus add-ons for Giroud, but that remains well short of the Gunners’ £30m valuation.
Giroud is reportedly keen on a move to Chelsea and his representatives are said to have been happy with the personal terms offered by Chelsea.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea would re-enter talks for Giroud but with Antonio Conte pushing for the signing of the striker, Chelsea could still make another move for Giroud.
