Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly interested in signing West Ham striker Andy Carroll during the January transfer window.
Chelsea’s proposed move for the 29-year-old striker could be over after the striker suffered an ankle injury which could rule him out for up to six weeks if he doesn’t need a surgery.
A report on The Telegraph also claim West Ham fear Carroll could even require surgery, which could see him sidelined for up to four months.
Carroll has not been training with his West Ham teammates since picking up the injury and according to The Telegraph, a scan on Thursday showed that the damage to Carroll’s ankle could be worse than feared.
Chelsea reportedly made contact with West Ham earlier this week to explore the possibility of signing Carroll on loan for the rest of the season but West Ham are only willing to let him leave on a permanent deal.
