Chelsea are losing grounds in the league with consecutive draws and now find themselves in fourth place after a barren draw with Leicester City on Saturday.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for West Ham’s Andy Carroll, and Chelsea’s pursuit of the 29-year-old could end up in a loan deal.

Chelsea are desperately in need of a striker to compete well this season as summer signing Alvaro Morata has failed to score since his strike on Boxing Day against Brighton & Hove Albion, and the Italian has opted against using Michy Batshuayi.

Reports now claim Chelsea are only interested in a short-term solution at present and would attempt to sign ex-Newcastle man Andy Carroll, on loan from David Moyes’ side for the remainder of the season.
