Chelsea had a difficult game against Leicester City today, and the Blues could only get a draw from the encounter.
The game ended goalless much to the frustration of the fans, and Chelsea were totally dominated in the first half.
Conte opted to take off key players Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard as early as the 58th minute, and the Chelsea manager has revealed the reason for his action.
He said: “I saw them very tired.
He also revealed that his entire team was tired due to the tight fixture schedule.
The Chelsea boss said: “I think that honestly that to find an excuse or alibi we paid a lot for the Arsenal game. To play Wednesday night and then against a really good team after only two days and a half.
“It was almost the same team against Arsenal. That was my plan. I saw a lot of players very tired. We suffered a lot in the first half in the start of the second half. The fresh energy changed the game and we created chances to score. We tried to win the game. At the end the result was fair.”
Conte has now vowed to rotate his team more as he added: “I think I am doing rotation. Against Norwich I made nine changes, Arsenal ten and I thought the same players would be okay to recover. This period, to face all competition is not simple otherwise you have to take the risk.”
