The January transfer window ends today, and Chelsea will be up against Bournemouth tonight just hours before the close of the window.

Transfer deadline day is known for its intense rumours, and Antonio Conte has revealed his unhappiness with having a game played in such time.

Conte showed his frustration at having to answer similar transfer-related questions from journalists every three days and had stronger words about the simultaneous timing of today’s game and the final few hours of the transfer window being open.

The Italian said: “It’s not right to have a match when there is the deadline of the transfer market. You can have this situation where [players] are doing half and half.

“Whoever decides the future should reflect a bit before preparing this. There are many coaches who don’t like to have a game when there is the deadline of the transfer window.”
