Chelsea’s goalless draw with Leicester City today was greeted with jeers at the end of the game, as the Stamford Bridge fans endured yet another barren draw in 2018.
Thibaut Courtois believes the fans didn’t do enough to help the team and that the boos even made matters worse.
“It doesn’t help when the fans boo and whistle after each misplaced pass,” Courtois said.
“We didn’t play well but that’s when we need the fans behind us.
“Obviously we wanted to win the game, and at the end with 10-men we pressed them, but for 70 minutes of the game they were the better team.
“Obviously we all feel a little bit tired, last year we went from week to week, but now we have already played a lot of games.
“But it’s not excuse, Leicester had more intensity than us and more aggression, they started very offensive and pressed us high up the pitch.”
