Eden Hazard has dropped major hint that he’s close to signing a new contract with Chelsea.
The future of Hazard has been uncertain and the Belgian has just over two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge.
There was cause for panic amongst supporters late last month when his father, Thierry Hazard, revealed that Hazard could be on the verge of joining Real Madrid.
However, Thibaut Courtois admitted few days ago that Hazard and himself are close to signing new deals and are urging each other to put pen to paper.
“Do Eden and I encourage each other to sign? Yes. He will say ‘if you sign, I will sign’ and I say the same to him!,” the goalkeeper told the Evening Standard. “I think we are both happy at Chelsea, we both have a good part to play.
“We have been champions twice in the four seasons I have been here and can have our peak years together at Chelsea.”
Hazard has now dropped hint he could be close to signing a new contract which would likely see him become the highest paid player in the club’s history with claims that an offer of £300,000-a-week is on the table.
“I don’t know who’ll be the first to sign a new deal,” the 26-year-old said.
“That’s a secret.”
Hazard signing a new contract is definitely one of the biggest news Chelsea fans will want to hear.
