Chelsea strolled to the Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season as Chelsea manager as the Blues even went on a 13-match winning streak.
However, Chelsea have struggled for form this season as the team found itself in four competitions compared to last season, and Antonio Conte has admitted he saw this coming.
“My task is to continue to work very hard for the club and have great respect, firstly for my job and also for our players and fans,” said the Chelsea boss.
“If you remember at the start of the season I said maybe this will be the most difficult season for me. I have a great capacity to see very far (ahead), not just 10 metres.
“We must be focused and give everything every day, we have to continue to do this. We have to know we will face great difficulties but if we know this we are ready.”
Conte believes we are performing well when you consider the amount of games we are playing in comparison to last season.
He added: “It’s normal to have this period if you go through in every competition.
“Don’t forget, we missed only one game in the Carabao Cup, we reached the semi-final, and if you compare it to last season we were out after the second game against West Ham.
“Now we have another game in the FA Cup, then the Premier League and then the Champions League starts again, so for sure it’s a busy period.”
