Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will be out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to sign for Manchester United this week, although reports now claim Chelsea have made a late bid to hijack the deal.
Eden Hazard has been persistently linked with a move to Real Madrid, and with Chelsea now linked with a move for Sanchez, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has warned the club against thinking of buying Sanchez to replace the Belgian.
“If he was a few years younger,” he told The Debate.
“And with the Hazard to Real Madrid rumours and stuff.
“You can see where they could probably bring him in and I think he could probably do that Hazard role.
“But I just think at 29 he just doesn’t seem like the age that Chelsea would sign a player like that.
“I can’t see how it would fit in.”
