Chelsea have today completed the signing of Ross Barkley after his £15m move from Everton.
The 24-year-old is a product of the Everton academy, and it seems the Toffees aren’t happy with the way they lost Barkley.
Barkley was close to joining Chelsea last season for a superior fee of £35m, but he backed out of the deal and chose to remain at Goodison Park. He has now eventually left Everton and this means Everton have lost £20m from this deal.
Everton have also sold Liam Walsh and Gethin Jones to Bristol City and Fleetwood respectively today.
Surprisingly, in Everton’s official Twitter page, they wished good luck to both departing players and added lengthy statements about both departures on their website.
In contrast, there was no farewell message for Barkley as Everton simply acknowledged that the deal has been completed and did not wish him well on his move.
The Toffees also failed to add a picture on Barkley in their tweet about him, unlike the posts about Walsh and Jones.
