Chelsea are in the transfer market for a new striker, as the club search for a back-up to summer signing Alvaro Morata whose goals have dried up of recent.
Chelsea have been linked with Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch this January transfer window, and club legend Frank Lampard has revealed his unhappiness with such moves as he believes they are too short-term.
“It’s a very short-term answer,” said the former Chelsea midfielder. “I don’t quite see it for that reason. Chelsea have got to be a bit careful as we see Manchester City here they’ve spent a fortune, loads of attacking options. Manchester United, seemingly going and getting Sanchez.
“Chelsea have to make sure they’re not getting left behind. Listen they bought Alvaro Morata, recently he’s not scoring so all eyes are on. The big moves going forward will come in the summer.”
