Chelsea signed Ross Barkley in a £15m move from the Toffees earlier this month.
The 24-year-old is yet to make his debut for the Blues and will sit out tonight’s clash with Norwich in the FA Cup due to not being registered in time.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has hailed the signing and believes the young midfielder will adapt to Chelsea’s style of play when he does pull the shirt on.
However, Match of the Day pundit Kevin Kilbane thinks Barkley will need to improve his football intelligence to make the grade.
“Decision making is Barkley’s one big flaw,” Kilbane told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“When he has been considered by the big clubs, you get to a certain age and your decision making improves.
“The biggest downfall at Everton was he didn’t know the game.
“He didn’t have any defensive nous.”
Barkley is yet to play a game this season having come back from a long-term injury, and Chelsea have arranged a training ground friendly for later this week to boost his match fitness.
