Talking about double standard, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has criticised Eden Hazard after the Belgian got a penalty in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
Hazard fell under contact from Hector Bellerin to earn Antonio Conte’s side the spot kick which brought them level, just four minutes after Jack Wilshere’s 63rd minute opener.
Despite being summoned by the FA, Wenger, who is already risking a stadium ban, insists the Chelsea forward cheated.
“I respect everybody’s opinion. I think it should have been a yellow card for Hazard. I have my opinion,” he said ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie against Nottingham Forest.
Wilshere was fortunate to escape a second yellow for diving before he scored his first Premier League goal since 2015 but Wenger failed to focus on the crimes of his own player who fell without any contact from Andreas Christensen.
Wenger said: “Maybe he (Wilshere) did, but why should that change my opinion on the penalty?”
Nice try Wenger.
